A better view of Explorer

When you click on your Windows explorer link in your taskbar Windows 7 will default to showing you the "libraries" view.

This may not be what you want: especially since many do not use the libraries feature much as yet.



The image below shows what you would see if you opened explorer



We can change this default view to a more useful one.

Start by right clicking the explorer icon on the task bar. Then right click again on the "windows explorer" icon (you will also see some frequently visited links) and select "properties": you should see what is shown below here:



Highlight the target link and paste this %SystemRoot%\explorer.exe /e,::{20D04FE0-3AEA-1069-A2D8-08002B30309D} in : the window should now look like the one below:



You can now click on "OK". If you now click on the explorer link on the task bar this is the new view that you will get (shown below)
